Can anyone help? heres the thing...
im wanting to live in Brisbane/sunshine coast region. Also i have been drudging through countless job websites and forums posting for help/advice about plastering opportunities/wages/type of plastering most commonly used. Not only that, but I'm wanting to know the bare minimum of funds to take over. I'm really struggling to find the information i need, is there any advice you can give me?

My husband is in eactly the same position as yourself so I would appreciate it if you have any luck with responses, if you would keep me in the loop.
We have hunted through pages of information and none of it seems exact to what we need. Perhaps you should set up in business together

Good luck with your enquiries

I felt hes was labelling me as dumb with the "click SEARCH above!" reply, not thinking im smart enough to do so. The reply wasnt constructive in anyway and i think he didnt mean it to be...
But yeh, whats the big deal i wasnt trying to offend anyone anyway.
Swiftly moving on, thorat, ive done the same as you, drudging through countless pages trying to find the allmighty word "plasterer" in the topic title haha. Anything i can find out, ill surely let you know. Companies that want your buissiness getting you a Visa say theres LOADS of jobs about for plasterers and their good wages, but i really cant find anything that backs that up lol. But yeh, we'll set up together when we know the ins and out of Aussie plastering... we'll go 70/30 in my favour! hahaha

Ermm.. just arrive in Brisvegas and work it out?
A half decent plasterer should surely be able to get a job with decent wages here somewhere..

Haha! thats really weird, dontcha think! dont tell me your husbands called david and your called louise? that would be something to write the papers lol.
You have msn messenger to keep intouch hun? Got any information on which suburb etc your thinking of? rent prices?
Dtox
if i take your advice this is what i'd be doing... I would pay £2000 for a Visa, wait a year during which time im not getting well-informed about the place im wanting to move or trying to because im going to "wing it" basically, travel a stupid ammount of hours/miles, get to Brisbane, with maybe not enough money, try to figure out which suburb to live in, try find a house to rent (Hopefully do that in a day because i dont want to live on the streets whilst i do haha), cross my fingers that theres work for me.
Surely you dont hand out advice to anyone close to you haha

Not your most helpful response Ste!
Think he's big enough to fight his own battles don't you?
Come on guys, we all know how difficult it is to find info through the search.
I suggested that the OP post in here as I thought you might be a bit more helpful than you are obviously prepared to be! Can you remember please, that there was a time when you guys in Oz were still over here asking for help & try not to shoot us all down when we ask apparently stupid questions or you assume we can't be ar**d to use the search button!
Rant over!
Have a nice day!

It is very difficult to find specific info through the search...simply because search technology on a website is very average.
But, if you type in "plasterer", "brisbane" and "wages", then you get some results.

3 of the 12 are threads started by the daddy in the last few hrs, heh heh !!
Sorry The Daddy, I can't help you out re: plastering. I would say though, that if you are coming over on your own and looking to rent, £10k would be good. And if you are looking to buy, £50k is a nice round number. cheers.
