My experience is that a lot of this depends on the individual, attitude and job description, and industry. Some of the people I meet on the train have similar issues to those reported, but they are in specific positions and industries.

Get all this right, and you can do very well.

Some migrants do very well - speaking for myself, my move coincided with a move up the ladder.

I've always found this a fascinating topic and would love to meet many a migrant and listen to their concerns first-hand.

OK, I haven't worked for a long time and when I did it was only for a small firm but when I did and I interviewed someone there was no way I was going to give the job to someone with a hollier than thou attitude.
