We will have to agree To disagree here. I LOVE WINTER! I almost cry with joy when I slip into my fleece for the first time each year....AND I can wear socks and closed in shoes that don't wreck my feet/heels

....moan, moan whinge whinge

It's 20 degrees and raining in Brisbane today. In Dubai, we'd just be getting into the mid-40's days now, just have to reaclimatise I think.

Just get your kids to massage moisturiser into your heels every day - my youngest loves moisturising my feet (strange creature).

I've had the same problem, having moved from Singapore. Slowly getting used to it (and wearing more clothes) though.

It was bloody cold here last night. Fortunately the house is smallish so not too bad to heat but it's hard to justify keeping the heaters on once everyone else has gone to bed. I sat here clad in pullovers, extra thick socks, etc for a while but decided to go to bed when the cold numb feeling began to set in. Thankfully there was a big hot water bottle in bed just waiting to be snuggled up to

I love all the seasons. Don't like the cost of heating the house in winter but love the skiing.

You're not that far away from the ski-slopes. I thought snow in or around Canberra was quite common as well.

I believe the mountains surrounding Canberra are snow capped sometimes. I'm not aware of snow in the city itself though. <glancing through the window to the sky>

Love it, going to dry up for the weekend too ... off to see Bindi on Saturday and playing cricket on Sunday.

Must get some more wood for a fire tonight, got down to 6 degrees a couple of days ago ... parky ...
