mmm not very good with British cooking I bet shepherds pie is dead easy to make, is it the same as cottage pie? what do I put in Irish stew that sounds intersting, Fried chicken its another good idea i havent done corn fritters for ages so I'll try it, for next week.
Thanks kim
cottage pie and shepherds pie one and the same

Irish stew has loads of versions usually lamb chops or neck end of lamb, potatoes carrots and onion
or you can use beef and add some guiness or stout.

well I don't actually have recipes written down but I'll find some as I have tons of cook books. but Irish stews my nan taught me and basically its chuck in what you have in the way of meat and veg

yes you cover the meat in flour braise the meat and soften the onion first cover with stock add veg (carrots swede an a stick of celery all chopped) a pinch of thyme and bring to the boil then simmer for 20 mins add the potatoes and simmer for 15 to 20 mins until the taters are cooked add red wine or guinness with the potatoes

you will find recipes on the internethttp://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1698/irish-stew http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/a...s,1205,RC.html

Thank you Honey I shall cook it next week I'll let you know how it goes as far as I remember it in the restaurant they use to BBQ the chicken pieces & dip it in the sauce, is that how you do the chicken as well for your recipe, & it take such short time to make.

Yes sometimes the sauces in the supermarkets look appetising but are horrible to taste. Going to the different authentic food shops is definately the way to go if you can. I used to work with some Vietnamese and Phillipino women and got to try lots of different things then knew what to look for when I went to the shop.
