I wish kids weren't so expensive to keep, or at least came with an 18 year money back guarantee if not completely satisfied.

I wish we had the cash so Mr PP could go to see his mum and that he was fit enough to fly there in the first place .

I wish doctors or scientists could find a cure for cancer, ideally before my best mate was diagnosed with it but I would settle for her chemo to be over and done with. I wish I could be there with her when she has it.

A cure only became urgent to me when my mum died of it. Then it seemed that lots of people I knew were getting it and that's when you realise the urgency of a cure - when it affects us directly.

Do you ever think there will be a cure?

Scientists have been working on it for more than 30 years. More and more is now known about the cause and these little buggers of cells which tend to sit around idle for a while, don't grow much or divide so don't get treated with the chemo, but then come back and haunt you, hence the 5-year clear parties. More and more work is being done on these types of cells and we are optimistic, but it's still going to be 5-10 years before something comes on the market. Treatments are getting a lot better and cancer is no longer an automatic death sentence and as long as we keep hoping and working, we will eventually get there

Being an Aunty is no cheaper - I wish my sister had spread her kids out more, one in July, one August and one September - far too close and thus far too expenbsive

I wish cigarettes and alcohol were easier to give up and that reality had a redo/undo button.
