I think it's time for another Perth housing thread!
What's going on in Perth with houses? People are going crazy everything I see that I like whenever I call up it's gone! Starting to feel like I'm going to end up living in a shitty dump

What are you looking for in particular there and price-wise?

Modern I'd say new but some people have no taste and think its acceptable to put a 1970s kitchen in a new home! A decent sized entertaining area with ideally about 5mtrs of back yard from house to boundary 4 or 3 x2 need space to stick his exs kids every other weekend and under $600k.
Ive even thought about living here for another 6 month to build somewhere but I can't even get hold of a decent block found one last night called up today and it was gone.. It's getting very depressing.

We also tried getting an established home under $550k - prices way over the top and guys offering $20k above the asking price. Couldn't figure how the banks lend against inflated valuations.

We recently bought a block - but that involved camping from Wednesday to Saturday when the land was released. We used to miss every other land release. There are some professional land campers, we paid one for 2 nights and I did the last night.

Sounds like Perth is quite pricey. You could move to Brisbane. Prices are still lowish compared to other states, but they are on the up too.

I'd say the Brisbane boat has floated again too - auction on our street for an old dumper that has decent enough bones, but is only a 3x1 (809m2 block) and will need everything ripped out and redone or pulled down and new house built went for 680k on the weekend. Similar houses in the street had been going for quite a bit less in the last twelve months, but things are heading back to where they were a few years ago I think.

I'm glad we have a neutral kitchen which will survive the test of time for a while, and if it doesn't, it's no skin off our noses.
The really new stuff seems to date so fast, in itself, because it is so different.

When you say 1970s, do you mean sort of minimilist? All edges etc?

I'd be very happy with a quality neutral kitchen but some "new" houses I've been to view have bright blue or red and black kitchens and there bloody awful, I certainly don't feel like eating in them more like
