I must be Grayling's Love Child
or long-lost brother.
As the boss is away on retreat, today I rugged up the children and took them for a 5k walk in the rain.
It cleared up on the return leg, but the heavens opened 400m from home and we got soaked. Lot of neighbours stopped by to offer us a lift and I just gave them the thumbs up and muttered something about character building, and taking a spoonful of concrete...
":It's not kids that hate bad weather, it's their parents..."

Its strange but any time I take my girls for a walk they head straight for the biggest puddles and always find the mud
Personally I find the dryers handly but more a lazy cop out for poor planning. We have a nice deck which is relatively sheltered from any rain. Helps dry the clothes keeping indoors safe from that wet and muggy smell. Speaking of which where are my socks

Badge, your kids are only about 3 and 1. What the hell are you doing making them walk 5km?

They love it and insisted even though it was raining. The youngest often sits out in the stroller for a leg, or they swap. They even insist on helping to push the stroller.
When I was the same age I walked the same distances. 2k in, I asked them if they wanted to continue, reminding them they would have to cover the same distance back. They insisted on continuing to the shops.
