I gave in ......
How bad am I? I gave in and brought a new digi box yesterday cos I couldn't cope without it! The is nothing on normal TV! I ended up going to bed by 8pm!
Pleased to say new digibox fab, lots of channels so I'm a happy bunny!

our sky dish signal is being blocked by the tons of scaffolding currently surrounding our house at the moment......you are SSOOOOOO right about normal tv being crap!
i contemplated going to bed at about 9pm too, but we found the bottle of baileys in the fridge so are currently sinking that!
what you watching then?

well we've watched the x-factor tonight (of course) and I'm now watching BBC Three! After that I'll change to Sky Travel! As we're only here for a few weeks more (in the UK I mean), I thought we could cope without one
sadly the digibox box won!

sadly the digibox box won!Sky travel really amused me when I watched it at a house we were on holiday at earlier this year.
They had a non-stop series of programs about New Zealand (where I used to live) called "The Filth Files". The subject of these programs were environmental inspectors and workers in Auckland, who went round disgustingly filthy restaurants, rehomed old people who were living in squalor and looked down manholes which were full of rats and cockroaches.
The programs were separated by adverts for.........................Clean Green Pure New Zealand!!!!!

Hmmm these programs are not really representative of NZ as a whole... most of it is very beautiful despite the efforts of all the Kiwis to pollute it as much as possible!!!
