Definately NOT a Huntsman - looks wickedly evil to me

Looks like a 'giant water spider' to me.

Nasty! Looks like the common black house spider, often found under the capping on the Super 6 fencing, but this is a monster. What have you been feeding it? I don't like the look of it at all. A size 10 boot is what it needs.

No that's not a Huntsman, but a rather beautiful wolf spider. Please don't kill it. They're timid.

http://www.csiro.au/resources/Wolf-spiders.html

You can id it by the 'union flag' sort of pattern it has on it.

No, don't kill it, but use that boot to kick it next door. I have seen wolf spiders - this one looks very black to me.

Yeah you wont die but it's like getting a bee sting or something.

Not so nice.

Huntsman spiders are quite painful to get bitten from as well though.
I once got bitten by a huntsman and it hurt initially but no lumps or itching etc.

I actually made a bit of noise myself, the wife locked the door behind me and left me out there in my boxers.

The neighbours now think I'm a right Bogan.

That's because there are many types of wolf spider within the genus.

Oh good, I'm glad you let him live. Actually I think it's a her... lovely and velvety.

I don't understand people who just kill the spiders here. It's so moronic.
