That is how to win a race!
Tasmanian driver Jason White needed to make up four seconds on the final stage of the Targa High Mountain, so when his brand new Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale burst into flames halfway through the final lap he just pressed on, driving like a man on fire... literally.
Targas are stage-by-stage events, so Jason White knew just how much time he'd need to beat the team of drivers in a Nissan GT-R. What he didn't know was his Lamborghini Gallardo was going to Michael Antonioni midway up Mt. Buller.
Not only did he finish the stage in dramatic fashion, he was so fast through the final turns he ended up winning the entire race by 10 seconds. Jason White is the new Tasmanian Devil. He's also extremely lucky the race ended in front of the Mt. Buller fire station, thus sparing his car from anything but minor damage (he was able to drive it to the winner's circle).
It's worth watching the rest of this video to learn about how some drivers stopped mid-race to "hold a baby wombat" and jerry-rigged their over-heating ECU by connecting it to the windshield wiper fluid nozzle.
Australians are crazy. That's why we love them.

Pretty good - but if you want real brain-out-last-lap-do-or-die try this one -the last lap, of the last race (Brands), of the 2011 BSB championship (last month). Gotta love the commentary.
