Well Ast, today the sun is finally shining down South, where we have been covered in grey cloud all week & I have had to keep reminding myself that it is summer & not Autumn! Of course, it will probably be grey & wet again tomorrow:mad:

i agree sallyclaire, its lovely blue skies today with not even a puffy white cloud in sight! of course, i am stuck at work :mad: the only decent day in what feels like months!

Have been working today too but was out & about visiting patients in the lovely Dorset countryside so wasn't too bad:)
Now madly trying to catch up with the laundry ahead of the predicted thunderstorms tomorrow:mad:

I work in Shaftesbury & live half way to Salisbury! It is really beautiful countryside & especially green thanks to all the rain we have had this summer.:huh:
Think this is one of the things about Cairns that appeals.

Yes Cairns is certainly a lot greener than the rest of the country although we're just coming into the ever so slightly dry/crispy stage towards the end of the dry season.
I've noticed tonight it's warmer and more humid already...keep fanning myself with a piece of paper and I haven't had to do that for a few months (probably just had too much wine!)

Beautiful day here today in Lincoln - had two interviews this morning and no sooner had I got home when the phone rang - got offered the job from first interview! Thank goodness, did not like the people at all at the second interview, really po faced no humour there at all!.

Anyway to round it off, had good old bangers and mash for tea with rich onion gravy ........... delicious! Then watched two episodes of corrie.

I'm curious about how people are seeing this topic as well. Reason being folks on my London board are pretty gloomy at present. There was this news on Monday.... worst economic crisis in 60 years.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7589291.stm.....

Followed by an announcement of 1,000 jobs lost in the City of London yesterday, with another 20,000 to go within the next 6 months, Places like Dresdner, and Deutsche bank and others in the Merchant banking industry being hit very hard.

Good thanks :D Haven't needed the wood burner for a week, things are looking up. Got lovely sausages for supper, yorkshire puds, onion gravy, carrots, spuds and even better, I'm not doing it :D
