14 years of driving for me:
Grey Cavalier SRI - Insurance to expensive so traded it in for a
Gold Rover SD (got nicked)
Red Fiesta (rolled it and wrote it off after 2 weeks)
Green VW Golf swapped it for a
White Granada with electric windows (was impressive at the time) it went on fire.
Burgandy Ford Escort traded in for a
Red Clio (my first brand new car) - was too small and I was pregnant so 6 months later traded in for a
Green Scienic - (had for a year and felt too mumsy - besides a light was flashing on the dashboard) so traded it in for a
Black Megane (the new shape) - had another baby so needed bigger car traded in for a
Black Mondeo which I had for a year and decided that with 3 kids I needed a 7 seater -
Silver S-max a year later and tired of being stuck in snow, I'm now in a
Black x-trail and hopefully nothing else until I get to Australia.
Think I'll get a Blue car there. I've never had one of them before.

12 years, with some gaps, due to inner city living
- Ford Taurus - first car, one screwed up bomb of a car. I had it rust in a parking lot until superintendant complained so I let him have it for a dollar.
- Mazda 626 - neat, but developed some mysterious clicking noise in a gearbox, so I had to give it up
- VW Passat - first new car
- BMW 525 - absolutely loved it, sold it to a friend and he ran it into a tree.
- BMW 535 - a project car by a friendly garage owner
- VW Passat (company car)
- eyeballing BMW X5 or something similar atm

31 years driving:
1978 - Turquoise mini - bits regularly fell off it, culminating in the subframe scraping along the road as I was driving it
1982-1988 - no car, boo hoo
1988 - Brown metro (horrible, horrible car, but it was cheap)
1991 - White peugeot 205 "look" - not bad
1995 - Blue renault clio, main benefit being that blokes would yell after me "I love you, Nicole"!
2000 - Dark green mazda 3 (very reliable and sensible, but a bit boring)
2005 to now - Silver celica which I just adore - I want to bring it in the container but OH says it's too expensive to import cars.....

Driving for 4 years.
Had a 50CC Aprilia before I had a car.
I had a very old Purple Rover Metro, complete with rust and a family of mosses around the window. it was held together with baling twine and gaffer tape.
I now have a new Nissan Micra in Grey - boring but reliable.
My husband has however gone through 10 cars in 7 years, most have been written off.

Nearly 30 years of owning cars:
Talbot Sunbeam. 928cc, wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding but it gave me freedom to get around by myself
Ford Fiesta XR2 (mark 1). Great car. Saw one the other day, first one I've seen for many years.
Sold it to go to Oz. Lived in central Sydney, couldn't justify/afford a car so hired one every now and again. Back in the UK...
Suzuki Swift GTi. Like a go kart. Fun, fun, fun
Fiat Punto 1.4 GT Turbo. Turbo lag. Slow from stationary, fast 50-70. Only car I've ever had that I didn't like. Reversed it at speed into a ditch one icy January morning
VW Corrado VR6 Storm. Still have it, best car ever, yet no-one's ever heard of them.
Boxster 3.2. Still have it. Flash but practical. 63,000 miles in nearly 6 years.
Yes I am a girl racer, even now.....

Oh and a Ducati Monster. Hubby nicked it to race and it's never made it back to road trim.
