How long does it take from.....
How long does it take from the time, you buy a land in OZ & have your house built on it, friend my hsband said it takes exactly one year, it just seems such long time, I thought it would a take a lot less time.

we found a builder first...got his time frames and then bought the land....that saved us heaps in rates(as you still pay rates on the land whether it has a house on it or not)

As a "very" approximate guide ...
2 storey = 18 months - 2 years
Single storey = 9 months - 1 year
Our build started at the beginning of October 2006 and we hope have the keys within a month.

we settled the land at the beginning of october 06, moved into newly built house 21 dec 06, our builder had his own contractors who worked solely on our house so i think thats why it was so quick !!!

Takes along time. From the people i know here it has taken 12, 15, 18 months..even longer for some. My brother bought his land 2 years ago and still waiting to move in.
