GRRRRR This a rant so look away if easily offended.

I am only nurse on shift with about 50 million patient leaves (ok slight exageration) down 2 staff no team leader about cant sign very well (I work on a deaf ward).

Manager phones up 3 hrs after I have started work and not been for a wee drink or any breakfast and gets this berates me !!!!!! for going OWW as I answer the phone ( I hit my ear and pulled the earing so my reflex is to go oww. Its not professional and dear GOD what would outside professionals think of me answering the phone she says grrrrrrr I explain that I had hurt myself lots of sympathy NOT. Then because a report that has not hit her desk 30 mins ago I get berated again I have no spare staff I cant leave the ward and have not sat still till now I might add 6.5 hours into the shift and only had 1 apple 2 wees and copius amounts of coffee. (Thats info for now did not tell her that )

I explain to her the situation and get this she informs me it needs to arrive there and every time our clinical nurse manager is off there is always a problem with the report. GRRRRRR I need to get it to her and can I send a support worker with it. Bear in mind all my staff is now on escort or on thier way so there is me, and me and umm me on a low secure male deaf ward. So I inform her of this and says can we not use a member from another ward and then informs me that I have to deal with it and she can understand if we cant always make the meeting OMG what is this woman on. I have patients asking me for everything I have staff not doing thier job and me with only 18 months experience as well. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

The new staff has caused a serious security incident OMG what else can go wrong

I so feel like walking and not serving my notice last day is on tuesday not sure if I can last till then. I wont get a break today and by the time I finish at 7pm she will have been home for at least 2hrs grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr


Ok rant over been and hid in the clinic and still they come and find me. But my staff made me a coffee and asked if I was ok and the OT staff are helping to fill my numbers awwww bless I love my team ( well most of my team)

So now I am in the office with me and me and umm 1 bank staff who signs less than me on the ward lol can it get any worse.

Sorry definatly rant over.

Tuesday's your last day? You must be counting down the hours until then . Do you have any sick/stress leave available?

BTW on a more positive note, this afternoon I drove around a few streets looking at various rentals (from the outside). Also noticed a few other places and I will email the agents tomorrow. Will pm you when I get more info.

Thanks Helen no stress leave at Alpha no chance. But I not too bad now Will have another qualified tomorrow so will finish early take todays break and tomorrows break at same time so leave early

Yep countdown thats all thats keeping me going and its not fair on the patients they need to have staff that can communicate I can a little well enough to disscuss stuff and they trust me but they dont like it when I am on my own they like to try to look after me lol

But I have been very good not hit the chocolate yet just eaten a bowl full of fruit though lol I will be thin one day

thanks everyone nearly there tuesday will be here soon then I can close the door and never go back.

grayling it might be similar but alpha where I work has the worst rep and nurses as a rule stay 12 months max they only have newly qualified and tehn within 2 years if they stay get promoted to team leader which is even more grief but you dont have the experience to do the on call etc grrrr. But I am calmer this morning unless there is no qualified there. Also I do 12hrs in oz where I have the job I wont be doing 12 hrs they said its shifts early lates and nights so not as bad in that way.
