How is everyone coping with trying to sell their house in current market conditions?

Went on the market today. 2 viewings booked for this morning. One postponed due to sudden bereavement, the other cancelled as too close to ex-husband.
Got one tomorrow though.

Just looking at the solicitors forms!! I don't know half the information required and I bet some of it has been packed!!!

Never mind, it's early days!

at least you have viewings. Ive got none arranged!!! Spoke to estate agents this morning and they have got someone who wants to be in this area and has just accepted an offer on hers which is good news. But she has to see mortgage advisor to see how much she can borrow before she will arrange a viewing!!!!

Its frustrating!

Yep, that's what we're doing as well. Plenty of people needing rentals and we've got 2 years before we have to re-arrange the mortgage. Hopefully the prices might have recovered a bit by then.

We're not that lucky - our fixed rate mortgage ends in December - gawd knows what our payments will be after that. Trouble is we can't afford to cover the mortgae if we have a period where the house isn't rented, and if we came back to the UK we prob wouldn't come back to this area anyway as hubby would find it harder to get a job here...so we NEED to sell!

We've been interest only for the last year, is that not a possibility for you?

Hi,

We are in Ireland and we are hoping to be gone no later than March 09. Haven't put the house on the market yet. I spoke to an EA and she said the only houses selling are the "bargins". We made a lot of money on our last house so we will put this one up for sale for a bargin price. Hopefully we will get it sold quickly enough

We had 5 viewings and 2 offers since June but offer people need to sell their property.

Was going to rent it and booked flights then rentals people messed about and put us off renting.

So..... we went to one of the offers who had the better house and we have bought their house. Mad I know when we just want our cash and to get the hell out of here but we have reduced our mortgage by £60k and now if not rented we should still be able to afford mortgage without giving food up! The bonus is we do rent it we will be about £300 a month better off.

We appear to be very lucky as only had to drop £6k from asking price.

We have been on the market since July 07. Our last viewer was 28th August 07, we have reduced by 30k, cant afford to go any further, but our agent told us not to anyway as still wouldnt matter, cant afford to rent either, need the cash to go, hoping and praying all the stuff the government is doing might help the matter as we need to validate by April 09 and cant really afford to have to do a validation trip
