Re: How Election outcome affecting us!
Howard destruction? wow, another parallel universe there I guess. Nothing like the destruction wrought upon the Australian people in this last 3 year debacle. Lies which make Howard look like George Washington, vindictiveness nay even violence, terrible wastage of the tax payer dollar, more broken promises in 3 years than in a lifetime of Liberality, not walking the talk, crackpot kneejerk ideas. I think Krudd/Gillard/Goose went to the Blair/Brown school of destruction
Sadly, a hung parliament with the ecofascists in a position of power is probably enough to make free thinking people leave Aus in droves.

Howard was a legend - one of Australia's great PMs. Rudd had no backbone and Gillard is a hard-left socialist and union puppet. Neither can be trusted.

People from western countries move about the world to wherever the money and opportunities take them. Some Australians move away to find better proespects for themselves, skilled immigrants replace them. Everyone's a winner.

Who's the more desperate?

The interesting thing will be, if either leader changes their stance on either of the policies then have they immediately let down their voters? If Abbott suddenly backs the NBN (after bashing it for several weeks) then how many of the liberal voters that were bashing NBN on this site would have changed their vote. The same would be said with Labor and the Mining Tax.

Australia is a small country on the periphery of the world - we will attract people who are happy with that. We're doing okay here whilst so many of the 'great' countries are battling like hell to stay afloat.
You are obviously bitter about something, so do what you need to do.

We'll see how he does if he manages to form a government. I did not think he had a chance in this election, but fair play to him, he's done very well and impressed a lot of us down here and brought his party back from the brink. I reckon we should give him a chance.
KRudd/Gillard had their chance and they blew it.

Don't know, don't care. I do engineering and there are a lot of very good engineers/designers moving (moved) here.

I'm sure you work with good engineers, I'm talking about the top of the heap, the people who are truly the top of their field. Australia struggles to keep people like that on their shores. Why do you think that is?

Why would they when there are far better places in the world for the worlds greatest minds and entrepreneurs to flourish? If anything they would be suffocated in Oz.

Obviously bitter? How so? Because I disagree with your hate-filled right-wing vitriol? Because I care about what has become of my home country?

The world is a big place. For some the grass is greener or lights brighter in other countries - so they move there. Other people like what Australia has to offer and move here. Where's the problem with that?
Where are you living?

Dear seniors,
I have no idea about the political situation in Ausie or which government is best...All I feel is us, offshore skill migrants are so stuck due to this hung parliament or the so called current situation, We were biting nails for SMPs to come at the end of the election. Now everything seems messed up and not really sure when government will resume from the care taker mode, which means from July 31st we are waiting immensely. I'm expecting a bright silver line through dark clouds!

Can't understand why this was moved out of the migration section (where there might have been relevant responses), just because it has 'election' in the title perhaps????
