I remember seeing a TV programme in the UK about sleeping. They were filming various couples sleeping. One woman was complaining that the husband kept stealing the duvet. Anyway the film showed her shoving the duvet onto him during the night. Nothing to do with him.

silly really. But yep she slept from 9pm to 5:3am after being awake EVERY night since she was born! And with the breastfeeding malarkey I'm the only one who can feed her. My other one slept from 2 wks so I'm not used to sleepless nights!!

THey are never the same though - my 2 boys were brilliant sleepers, both asleep all night by 2 months, but my demonic angel won't go to bed early (she sleeps all night once she is down) but no matter what we have tried, she just won't go to bed early.

God you are so right, I naively thought two babies from me would be exactly the same, god they're so different already.

I do actually have a mate with sleep apnoea (sp?) who needs to wear the whole Darth Vaderesque breathing apparatus to get enough oxygen to sleep. And I once knew a girl with narcolepsy which was just crazy, she'd fall heavily asleep at parties, like a little doormouse. She always had to have friends she trusted out with her to make sure she got home safely.
And BTW I also sleep exactly like you SC (and i like the starfish description!) but my OH complains that it takes up most of the bed and he has a knee in the small of his back. But it's the only way I can drop off! Then I roll into foetal and zzzzz...

On my side with with knees bent, one arm infront of me and the other under my pillow. I wish I could sleep on my stomach but I'm not allowed to (physio and chiros orders)

My DD didn't sleep through the night till she went to school at 5 years old!
I have tried the Darth Vader equipment too as I not only have insomnia, restless leg syndrome but also MS related sleep apnoea when I do fall asleep. However I couldn't get used to it so gave it up and now just take my chances that OH might poke me if he hears the death rattle.

I tend to wake up in the night, text people with information I think they need to know, then go back to sleep leaving them wide awake... if I have your number be warned and then switch off your phone before you tuck in for the night!
Actually I can fall asleep absloutely anywhere... and have done.. on many occassions.. peoples laps, sitting upright typing into the laptop, on the toilet (ok, that one was alcohol induced), in a cafe, sitting at my desk (don't tell Viv).. I tend to just close my eyes and wham, I powernap for 5 minutes!
