How could someone do this with a family in the house?
Six kids dead in a house fire - and it turns out it was started by some pathetic idiot pouring petrol through the letterbox
How on earth do the parents get over something like that - not to mention the emergency services who attended.
Petrol was used to start a fire in a house in Derby in which six children died, police have said. The blaze was believed to have originated below the home's letterbox, a media conference was told.
Jade Philpott, 10, and brothers John, nine, Jack, seven, Jessie, six, and Jayden, five, all died in the fire. Duwayne, 13, died later in hospital.
The children's father, Mick Philpott, said the family had been "overwhelmed" with support from the local community. He said Duwayne's organs had been donated to save the life of another child and made an appeal for privacy.

This has been awful. The photos of the flowers outside the house are heartrending Arrests were made quickly though and I hope the family are able to obtain some closure very soon

It's awful when something like this happens. I wonder what the incentive was to pour petrol through that families letterbox ? I often wonder about why this kind of thing happens, did somebody do something to someone that sparked off a series of events or was it just a random act of vandalism ?

How do they get out of bed in the morning or put one foot in front of the other? And to have donated organs on top of everything ...
I hope they get justice.

Heartbreaking. Why would anyone do that especially if they knew the house was full of children.Don't think you could ever recover from that.

I've been following that one, sad doesn't even begin to cover it. Why people (in the media) are bringing up the fact that he's had a lot of children and a different lifestyle to how many of us would live is beyond me. And to have the strength to donate the organs is incredible. Hope they get some comfort from that.

They arrested the ex girlfriend and her brother but released them without charge. Don't think anyone else has been arrested yet.

no-one charged yet, all the media frenzy was about his lifestyle and the menage a trois. He had been on a few reality shows, and had tried to force the local council to provide him with a bigger house for his family. Anne Widdecombe did stay with them for a week a while ago when they were doing documentaries about living on benefits.
