A few other Geelong and surrounds houses - there are the boxes, but plenty of older houses too. Of course there is the yucky mansion if you have the money - the interior is horrid.........

It's too easy to identify your house from that photo, it took about 60 seconds on Google maps. Just thought I'd let you know in case you want to take the photo down.

How you going after Preston/Northcote.... Reason I ask we had a festival on near us down at Coburg Lake the other day. We saw an old neighbor who had moved out to one of those new estates up Epping way. She was really upset with her move. Kept saying she wish she hadnt listened to her husband. I've seen a couple of people like that doing a nostalgia trip around Coburg. Maybe the only ones that miss it come back to reminisce though.

Photos later

I used to really like Northcote: mixture of grunge and trendyness. Preston was great for the multicultural vibe, similar to Coburg, I'd say. Mind you this was 10 years ago, so things may well have changed. I know Epping though, and imagine it is very similar to Waurn Ponds and Wandana Heights on outskirts of Geelong. Street after street of McMansions, yuk. The thing that amazes me about new suburbs is the bizarre juxtaposition of non matching architecture, you could get a migraine just from looking at them. Give me an old established inner suburb any day, where you can walk to schools, shops etc and the housing is pleasing on the eye.

These are being built behind the bluestone wall.... keep them there lol

700K plus gets you this.... Not the best..

Anyone recognise this.... I can get to it in less than 90 secs... on foot.

Stereotypical "woghouse" 100's of these houses around here. 750K+ probably blimey !!

Mostly like this though... Asking 979,000K for this..

Plenty of these Californian Bungalows

Finally one similar style to mine. That Iron work is a pain to paint.

Preston is now mostly Chinese/Vietnamese, the only Northern Sub that can claim that. Fantastic for Restaurants, and probably more valuable for their presence. We don't have to go to Chinatown/Little Bourke st anymore do get really good choice in Chinese or Asian food. Northcote is one of the few places I would move to from here.

It's gone. Ta. Guess the location was a little bit too easy to identify.

I really don't like Grovedale/new Highton, Wandana Heights and Waurn Ponds. Too soulless for me...........like being in the thick of it all too! Which is weird, cos in the UK we always lived in new...........
