We were planning to rent in Aus for a year anyway.
Good luck with yours

Hi Sue
whereabouts in St Albans are you ? I'm in Napsbury. Our house is going back on the market today after being off for 2 months. We had 7 months off it on the market with lots of interest but no sensible offers.

hair falling out knowing what to do next.. clock ticking and dont want to rent (or return) to uk if we do go out.

To the person moaning about 9 weeks on market - hah! wait till you're still waiting 2yrs later like we are!!!
So if you're in same boat, ....our sympathies!!!
that aint nice at all...hope it picks up for all of us....an what with interest rate rises looming...it dont bear thinking about. My view is that we need a certain amount of cash...now if we can save that in the intrim then we'll drop the house price (done it once already). That new build i saw in brisbane recently that will complete in 2009 is looking better every day.

night all

We've had our visas nearly a year now and only one viewer for the house so now thinking about getting a different estate agent and possibly putting it up for auction. Has anyone sold theirs by auction?
It's so damn frustrating.

Unhappy Re: house sale nightmare

yep good thinking Chaval.

its a dilemma isnt it?

Dont get us wrong, we dont live in a crap area, and we have a lovely 3bed detached with 30ft double garage and extensive landscaped gardens... even our agents cant believe we havent sold it... its just the market (Im blaming the Footie @ moment...ha ha!!)

Yeh the Sheilas Wheels advert is another advert which 'rubs salt' in the wound to us in limbo-house-selling land, isnt it?

In a perverse way, good to know others in same boat... but optimist in me says the karma's gotta change sometime eh?

over and out for now. Lynd & Dave
