I also cannot stand the bastardisation by Aussies of Celtic names.
I have seen so many girls called Sian over here and they pronounce their name as Sigh-anne. Also I have seen a lot of phoenetic Celtic name spellings like Shevorne and Neave. Dumbasses!

Surprised no one has mentioned Chardonnay!
I love Irish names but am pretty resigned to having to correct people who insist on spelling Sean, Shaun
If we had another girl, I'd love to call her Aiofe. I also Aisling, but hearing it aussiefied as 'Ashleeeeen', I decided against

I'm with you there on celtic names. our daughter is called Niamh and she often gets called "Nee-ammi" which drives me nuts, especially at school events where she has attended for 5 years now. She has a friend called Siobhan that always gets called 'Seeo-barn' too. I suppose it's our fault for giving them Irish names.

I've met little boys called Rocky before now....
Unless of course it was at his mothers house... How does "Waikiki" sound as a girls name...
**** me NO!!!!!! Not "Kiki..." PLEASE!!!! Thats another strippers name isnt it?

Just so long as it isnt a stripper name ... Or spelt wrong
Which brings me to the NEXT burning question....
What are we going to call the strippers mothers mother?

Cant be Granny.... It will have one of them already... Grey Nomad goes by that .....

Nanna? Granny Eddie? Oi You? All the mother's grand kids have only ever called her by her first name.

Or Psycho for short? Trips off the tongue, won't offend strangers, well not as much as the full version and everyone will know who she's referring to. Ideal!

And don't say Eddie for heaven sake!
