stacey and jordan has a reputation beyond repute

Help me i think i have Virus.

I put my computer on this morning and it's acting very funny. It keeps telling mr to download Spydawn. When i click out of it it tells me i have a virus W32MYZOR.FK@YF. When i click on it it tells me to download malware. I have now got icons in my tool bar for spyware, popups and spam. Why hasn't my anti norton picked up on this. What do i do, do i download what it's telling me to do. I have only basic computer and internet skills so i need help.

Please help

Hi whats the Lab have been of Ex pats for a while is this something new.

At the bottom right, where you can scroll to look at different parts of the forum, you'll see 'the lab'

i should still pop i the lab as it may need more than that - mine did i had to run various things to clean it properly

Not last time I used it

But things change I guess .... in that case try www.microsoft.com/defender. That one is definitely free (so long as you are using a genuine copy of XP anyway

)

Windows Defender is better than nothing, but not very good in comparison to other packages. Spyware Doctor's the cream of the crop - think you can get a 30 day trial version, but it's well worth signing up for the full thing.
