My birthday is on Christmas eve so he has absolutely no excuse to forget it! He hasn't forgotten yet so haven't had to think of a suitable punishment
We don't really do Valentine's Day or Anniversary's. Because the kids are little and we don't really have sitters we usually do something low key and when it suits us. We don't really exchange gifts or cards either.
Same goes for our anniversary. I'm actually the one who tends to forget it (hangs head in shame). But we don't do gifts or cards, just spend some time together... if possible without the kids!

He never forgets my birthday because it's always a public holiday. I also share my birthday with my dad and a cousin, and same month as one of our daughters, JTL's nephew, and my FIL. It's impossible to forget my birthday but it doesn't mean it gets celebrated in my honour!
I just reminded him yesterday that our 7th wedding anniversary was coming up and asked if he was feeling the itch! Neither of us really remembers the date. The only way I can figure out the date is to remember one of the seemingly more important dates and work from there!
(Our anniversary is:
one week after my former roommate's wedding anniversary, OR
two weeks after above former roommate's ex-boyfriend's birthday, OR
one week after Bastille Day OR
one day before one of my best friends' birthday.)
We don't do Valentine's Day. If he wants to give me flowers, he sends the kids to pick some from the garden. If I want chocolate, I go to the cupboard or refrigerator. I don't need a Hallmark card.

I really cannot imagine how it would be possible for my husband to forget my birthday. As I talk about it for weeks before hand and we normally are planning something a weekend away or at least a dinner somewhere nice. There is no way I would be silent in the run up and then berate him on the day if he forgot. if he looked anywhere close to forgetting he would be reminded well in advance.
We don't bother about Valentine's day neither of us see the point in that. We remember anniversary but don't buy cards or presents, we would normally go for dinner though.

I bought Deb a toaster once for mothers day when the kids were little, my daughter wrapped it up as neat as a 7 yr old can & Deb went ballistic A TOASTER YOU BOUGHT ME A F****G TOASTER!
We needed one & I thought it would be nice for the kids to do her tea & toast in bed
I have a list of options now for birthdays etc

I wouldn't dream of buying Deb flowers on mothers day, she 'aint my mum, I do send my own mum a card. If our kids don't bother it really isn't my problem it's theirs they are both adults

I can't imagine a world where that would happen. Mr Bermudashorts is far too well trained. I have suggested that I wouldn't mind a pasta maker or bread maker or sausage maker though, but he says he is very uncomfortable buying me any kitchen appliance as a present.

I bought the toaster as a gift to justify the expense & to this day have never lived it down. It was more embarrassing than having to go to the dole office with all the down & outs & claim my Nat. Ins. stamp First & last time I did either

In my defense M'Lud this was the late 80's or early 90's there was a huge recession & the company I worked for had just gone bankrupt owing me a couple of grand. I was flat broke, no spare cash for flowers or chocolates & the toaster was broken. We couldn't pay the mortgage & my folks were supplying us food parcels. When your living on beans on toast a toaster is pretty important
