A wonderful Aussie friend invited me over to watch the fireworks from her flat overlooking the river, the mere gesture brightened up my suicidal mood no end.

Happy new year- the UK has almost got there now, but I'm over it already....off to Ikea this afternoon (OH volunteered) to get two barstools and a cabinet for the TV. Then about 3 weeks to put them together!!!!!

Yep, 'tis indeed 2013 here now We've just come in from the pub down the road where they had a great local blues band playing, lock in after 10pm and everyone was up dancing and just having a great time.
