Good stopovers for those with kids?

We're hoping to bag a holiday on our way to oz with our three year old...
Can anyone please recommend some good stopovers for those with kids?

We flew into Langkawi and out of KL with a 2 and 3 year old. Hotel in Langkawi had (at the time) the biggest pool in Malaysia with water slides and a lazy river etc. There is also an aquarium not far from the hotel and a stunning cable car ride to the top of one of the mountain peaks.
We stopped at water parks in KL and also Genting Highlands (amusement park). Also travelled down to Singapore and visited the zoo and Sentosa Island.
The locals showered our two little ones with attention - would highly recommend it
