Thought I'd post an update on how the trilogy is going.

Great story and the main character is brilliant, but I have found the books to be a tad slow now and again and I have got slightly bored with certain chapters. All in all so far though it is a great read. I'm half way thru the last book.

Chick flick next me thinks.:thumbsup:

After reading all 3 of them one after another I too got a bit bored with parts of them. Personally I don't think they live up to the hype. Good books but not great books IMHO.

Yip, found myself skipping pages, which is disappointing. :(

Not sure if it's been mentioned previously but I've just finished reading My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

I thought it was a fantastic read, really thought provoking. I haven't seen the film although I loosely knew what the story was.

There's a Q&A with Jodi Picoult in the book where she's asked questions about the film adaptation and apparently there were quite a few significant things added in the film which she didn't agree with....thought that was interesting. Don't think I'll watch the film but as I say, the book was a great read and yes I cried like a baby.

That was really thought-provoking wasn't it, I loved it. I'm a big fan of hers, she hasn't disappointed me yet.

It really was. From the outset I was definitely on Anna's side but the more I read the more I could see things from her parents point of view. I thought the way the book was narrated by all the characters as opposed to just one was a brilliant touch as well.

I haven't read anything else by Jodi Picoult but I'll definitely have a look now.

I too enjoyed the film, I have not read the book yet but after your comments I think I will.

I usually like to read the book before watching the film.... then I have to say I am one of those people that moan about the film not being the same as the book... but still do it anyway :)

Keeping Faith - about a child with stigmata - and Handle with Care - about the conflict between friendship and professional issues - are two of my favourites.

Now on my latest Jodi Picoult, "House Rules" - I'm about a third of the way through it, and its captivating and heartbreaking at the same time.

Anyone who has ever loved or lived with a person (child or adult) with Aspergers Syndrome with eat up this book, but be warned it really makes you think.

.... well that's a book that clearly is not for me then - thinking hurts :p

I'm reading Jasper Fforde's "The Big Over Easy". I'm not finding it as gripping as the Thursday Next series but it's enjoyable nonetheless.
