Default Goldfish friendly pond in Brisbane?

We want to release some goldfish into a pond.

We don't want them to go into a tank as they've been raised in a pond and are happy little weed dwellers (rather than UV light lovers.)

Can anyone suggest a good goldfish friendly pond in the Brisbane area? It can be private or public... so long as it's fish friendly.

I'd probably advertise them on gumtree or on a local notice board

I wouldn't be surprised if there are penalties for dumping fish is public ponds as they may carry bacteria or other nasties which can affect the whole ecosystem. It would also be unfair on the fish to not acclimatise properly as there will be water differences.

It is illegal to introduce any 'noxious' species ( which includes goldfish) into any water in Queensland......unless it is an enclosed garden pond.

Fines can be up to $200000 if you are caught.

Actually the maximum fine is $220000 so best not to take any Risks

Wow.

Plan B required.

I thought about gumtree but don't want them to end up in a tank. Alternatively, we could take pot luck with the tenants going into our place and hope they'll look after them in their own little pond.
