theres a great crowd in robina so i dont see u having much of a problem settling there.
im sure they had a night out at the pub last week. but ill find out for ya.
theres a few from robina coming to the pac pines night so u will get a chance to meet them.
directions.......
head up the motorway, take the smith st cut off for Gaven (its about 2Ks long),keep in the left lane, turn left at the lights,drive for another 2Ks, u will come to a roundabout, go straight through and turn left at the next roundabout.
its really easy to get to.
looking forward to meeting u

Soapy, this is the first time something you've written has made me cry. OMG, I'm just sitting here with the laptop and the kids are sitting next to me drawing pictures of Barbie and smearing the walls with glitter glue. I can't believe that one day, they'll be 19 too and I just know that they'll be telling me "Mum I'm off to backpack deepest darkest India" or something, just like I did, and my heart will break but I'll also be so proud and happy for them.

its funny i started the thread with the funny side of her leaving, but i had just got back from dropping her off, soon the pish slipped out lol
i dont think ive ever put my real feelings on BE and after reading it later that day i felt like a prick. but now i know it will help others that are having probs with their teens.
one thing i can add to this that other might take note of.
the one thing in her letter that stuck out was.
"im so happy to be leaving in good terms"
i could have went mental when she told me her plans and might not have seen her for a long long time. i dont think any of this was down to me though.
she timed everything perfect, got me roon her wee finger then dropped the bombshell about leaving.
i think my wee lassie is smarter than i ever gave her credit for (wee proud smiley)
i would just also like to thank everyone for their replies, PMs and emails.
it sounds pish but u lot did help me look at it from her side and i do thank u all for that.
you all know who u are
now thats enough of that pish before i end up with the name soppy...........only real pish© from me from now on

She decided about a month ago that she wanted to go back and booked the train (your all going to pish yourselves at this). The boyfriend arrived on Friday to help her bring all her gear down.
When she first booked it I asked her if she wanted me to pay for a flight for them both, but she had far too much gear to take on the plane. So I asked her how she was getting to the train station. She told me that they were heading for surfers, and then getting the bus to The Casino, then getting the train from there to Sydney. She had it all worked out and I felt very proud of her that she had everything organised!
Last night friends across the road phoned and asked if we would come over so they could all say goodbye. So off we toddled, had a pile of drinks just to dull the ache.
When one of my mates was leaving he asked if my daughter and her boyfriend wanted a wee day out on his boat before they left. It was very nice of him, but I told him they were catching the train to Sydney at 10.10am and don’t have the time. He then asked me if I fancied a wee day out. But I couldn’t I was taking the kids to The Casino to catch the train. He then asked what train and I told him the train to Sydney. He burst out laughing and then informed me that there was no train at The Casino and am I sure she didn’t get it mixed up with Casino the place !!!!!!!
I dint have a clue and asked her, she hadn’t a clue either.
It turns out that Casino is nearly 3 hours drive from us and is in NSW !!!!!!
We rushed home and tried franticly to book them on a flight to Sydney with no success.
I had been pished from the night of boozing, but luckily he boyfriend had only 2 beers. So he had to drive down at 6.30am and I drove back. I felt like strangling both of them, but the heartbreak of feeling like I was loosing my wee baby kept me in check.
The next few weeks will be hard without her around here but I’m sure time will be a healer.
I start work at 2am and she would stay up and iron my gear and make me breakfast before I left (I never needed to ask). It could feel as if I’ve lost one of my hands, but instead it feels like a huge part of my heart has been ripped out.
I do hope she finds her feet in that big world out there and a part of me feels proud that she has made this big step, but I still see her as a 3 year old and want to drag her back kicking and screaming.
Right I’m off to sit and sulk like a big baby
