I was 31 when I found out I was pregnant (with First Born). We were camped out at my MILs and both jobless.
To be fair, we'd only been back in the UK 1 month. Talk about timing.
What's worse, is that we managed to do the same thing on our return - back 1 month, found out I was pregnant. At least hubby had a job this time, so we were just homeless.
FC that they're able to work something out soon.
Sounds like you had an interesting trip.

Wendy, I just want to say thank you for leaving. Now you have gone, so has the freezing cold weather
Seriously, great posts, It's so nice to know you are 'going home' to Australia rather than leaving home (UK) xxx

I haven't posted on expats for ages but do log on occasionally. I am also in UK for the first Christmas for 8 years, although visit regularly for the warmer months. Long story short, broke my arm in 3 places and dislocated it before I arrived to the coldest nov for years. Have been really scared to venture out due to the snow and ice, and yes it is my right arm and I am right handed.
I really find the hype here to have the perfect Christmas and the commercialism much worse than back in Oz. There seems to be more pressure on people to spend spend spend! Yes plenty of choice but prices are now being slashed, so perhaps people aren't spending so much this year, money does seem to be tight.
Looking forward to spending our first Christmas with grandchildren aged 1 & 3 should be good fun and make it all worth while, but it will be quite some time before we come back for winter.
As I broke my arm while having a holiday before we got to UK, and had to have it operated on, my advice is to never stint on holiday insurance!!!!
Happy Christmas everyone.

We spent three months in Uk May June and July and were underwhelmed as well. Loved visiting everyone, the scenery etc, driving no different, too may cars really for the size of the place.
Great holiday and we were going back again year after next but will see, might not bother.
