Going home ....

Going home ....
... yep we're off back to Brisbane and can't wait! Darwin hasn't really worked for us. The job (the reason we came here) has been great - good bunch of boys, some interesting work, some decent extra-curricular activities etc but Darwin ..... well the wet season should just be banned. Months of stinking heat and humidity is bad enough but everywhere closes down and you're miles (and miles and miles ...) from anywhere to get away from it. It's been better during the dry (beautiful weather for instance) but there's still not a great deal going on here, or anywhere nearby.
Anyhoo, I applied for a job in Toowong a couple of weeks ago, had a video phone interview (over Skype) last week and got the offer today! Start on October 1st so have now got a mad 2-3 weeks of packing and organising and a week's drive in the motorhome.
Woohoo!! Can't wait to get back home

Hey Wmoore
What an adventure you've both had, despite as you say costing you bucket loads of money
but i bet it feels good to be going back home
Good for you for having the courage and openmindedness to explore and discover some of Australia!

Re: Going home ....
We loved our trip, even though we only got through about 1/3 of it. We have still got the motorhome though and there are plenty of places within reach in the south east.
But you're right, we're really looking forward to going home. When I accepted the job up here, we flew to Brisbane to sort our stuff out and as we were coming in to land, I got this overwhelming feeling of coming home. I should have taken notice of that really but never mind.
