That was the most ambitious and hungry preformance in living memory, specially for an opening game, but everyone's still whingeing about Rooney etc, it is what it is, we're no world super power anymore, we should enjoy the beautiful game and a fighting performance win or lose. (I think the Australian commentators are largely an articulate bunch by the way). Blooding a young team will work and imagine the experience in 2016 at the Euros. My appetite has been wetted and I will come back for more. The problem with Rooney is that he is not pretty enough. If he had a decent haircut then maybe he would score more. Every star attacking player in all codes knows a decent cut and a modicum of hair gel is the key. I still would yellowcard an entire team if they spoke to me like that. The refs at the grassroots give up their free time to ref and they can't be treated with disdain. England could have won. There were lots of 'chances' but I see I have met my quota for cliches. |

this is fact not opinion, IMO is also egg-chasing. Even Aussie Rules is mostly a game of skill played with the foot - even if fads come and go where the hand is favoured. Any game where you have to use your foot is chasing as you can't even pick the bloody thing up when you lose control of it.. Every ball game apart from basketball is egg-chasing. Basketball comes to mind as the ball barely leaves the control of any one player! |
