I think I mentioned gas earlier on - it is becoming much more important, as it burns much more cleanly. China and the US are massively ramping up their gas burning capabilities, and the US in particular has just had a huge gas field find, so it's even more attractive to them now.
I still think that the future is nuclear though - and I suspect that it won't be up for consideration in Tony's consultation process.

Absolutely agree - the level of ignorance and fear surrounding nuclear energy in this country is astounding. I suspect that education on the issue is poor.
