Funny or Offensive

Has anybody seen this bumper sticker.A map of Australia and in the middle is written:**** off we're full.
I thought it was a bit off,my mate thought it was funny.

Re: Funny or Offensive

funny

Something I found offensive was the new Holden advert showing the titanic, something along the lines of "ship gets a hole in it, that's not a big deal... holden turning 60 is a big deal". Funnily enough only seen it that one time. I have a good sense of humour but failed to see the funny side of that, especially now they've found the Sydney and raked up a lot of sad feelings for people who lost friends and relatives on it.

I agree with you Bridie...1,500 people lost their lives and they don't think it's a big deal ? :frown:...I have noticed that for the past few days they haven't been showing that particular one...maybe other people have complained too. I know I was going to :(

I actually found the prospect of watching that film offensive for the same reasons some people see the bumper sticker as offensive.

I've never seen it, never want to. They shouldn't do the hollywood big-bollocks treatment on something like that, it's just not right.

BUT I will happily watch a war movie or somesuch where the body count is astronomical.

I'm odd.

i feel the same as you, wont watch the documentries about it. somethings should be just left well alone. Titanic's resting site is at the top of that list.

but i love war films too and prefer the so-called, based on a true story ones.

No chance then of you having a night out at the Titanic Theatre Restaurant if you visit Melbourne .

Had it been a proper Titanic story, I'd agree with you. The fact it was a complete load of bow locks is good enough reason not to see it. Although, after dozing through it whilst at my mother's one christmas  We put it on rewind and it was superb! By far the most entertaining way to watch it.

There are things that I wouldn't mind going down on me in a restaurant but a ship is not one of them.

By the way, anyone know about snakes?

We (I) have a huge bastard in the house, absolutely no idea what to do with it ... do I offer it cake?

If he's not in the way of the TV or drinking your beer, I'd leave him. If he's curling around your child, I'd try and remove him carefully with a very long stick.

<Daily Mail On>

Yes, think about the children!

When they get to 13 they'll have to drive it down to the bottle shop to get some fags and Bundy for Dad who has passed-out in front of the footy.

My favourite bumper sticker is 'Develop The Spit'.

It was on the tyre cover on the back of a 4wd and one of my kids in the back said " do they mean us" I said "no just me and your Mum, you were born here".I enquired at the local police station, out of curiosity if it was ok to have that in 4inch letters on the back of the car. When I told the policewoman what it said she could'nt stop laughing. So I got my answer there,I think it's a case of if you don't like it,get out.

Nah, nobody actually reads the Daily Mail, they can't get past the first 3 pages without going into a spluttering rage :D

Back to the Socceroos ...

(edit) Shanghai Sports is playing a really nasty remix of Salt N Pepa's "Push It" ... it's the only thing in English I've heard for a while and wished I hadn't.

I found it offensive mostly for Celine Dion singing the title song. The shit acting didn't help matters much, either.

That bloke that looks like a lesbian gives me the shits too.

Talking of 'actors' I can't stand, I caught some 'Pearl Harbour' the other week ... Jesus, Ben Affleck must be the luckiest man on the planet ... is there no beginning to his talent?

I see the Singing Stick Insect had to postpone a Brisbane concert last night due to a 'throat infection'.
