Default friends in perth?

I've been her for 3 weeks and I'm staying with family [I] never knew before near Cottesloe beach. They are great but I'm looking for a little bit more.

I've just finished my A levels at home and wanted a gap year experience so came to be with family because I don't have a lot of money. I wanted to try to find a job and would prefer to work with animals in a vets but I need some pay and so I am willing to do more or less any legal job. I have the necessary permit.

I don't want to go home but I do want meet some more people between 16 -20because I miss having someone my own age around. I don't drink so I'm not interested in the bar scene but I like football and I enjoy having a kick around. (I support Arsenal). I'm also passionate about F1

I would also like to see more of Australia for example Ayres Rock and Sydney but getting there seems quite expensive; perhaps you know of a cheaper way to go. I'm a genuine person, quite shy and I'm looking for genuine friends and/or advice.

Thank you

Hi,

Just bumping this thread up, I can't help you really but thought someone may know someone else etc.

Good luck.

It's a shame in a way that you're staying with family. If you were staying in a backpackers-type hostel you'd be swamped with things to do and people of your own age to meet. These hostels have noticeboards with temporary job ads, cheap tour info and the like - everything you need really.

I'd suggest going to stay in one for a few days - might make all the difference.

Why not pop down to Scarborough one morning and do some surf lessons. I can give you the name of the bloke who taught my kids. There are always guys and girls your age down at the beach in the mornings surfing and hanging out. Alternately you could try some of the youth centres, skate parks and the like. I'm sure you'll find someone your age who's interested in the things you are.

Hi everyone and thanks for your replies. I've caught the rail replacement bus to bunbury and I am staying in a backpackers hostel there for a couple of days.
