Default Fridge Freezer ?????

Is it worth buying a fridge freezer (Combination USA Style)in the UK or wait till we arrive in Australia. If its best to buy in the UK is there any specific requirements due to the temperature in Australia.
Can anyone recommend a good make & model ?

Thanks

Having walked around Harvey Norman a few times, I would say buy here in Oz. Much bigger range of side-by-side style fridges. Some of them are truly massive. Going to look again today.

Select side-by-side on the left.

Most, if not all, of the Fridges and Freezers in Australia will have a classification rating, based on the ambient temperature that they are designed to operate in.
Each Unit should have a visible rating plate, showing the Temperature Class, normally with 1 or 2 letters, but maybe using the class rating name.

SN = 10°C to 32°C (Extended Temperature)
N = 16°C to 32°C (Temperate)
ST = 18°C to 38°C (Subtropical)
T = 18°C to 43°C (Tropical)

I noticed that the fridges here don't have the cooling coils exposed at the back, they look sealed and all tucked inside, so no damage if pushed too far back against a wall.

Very likely it won't fit right over here....the british models are often smaller and may not fill the space well, or it could be too big too fit at all.

They still do in the UK too as I bought one recently. It has those spacers at the back to prevent the coils being damaged.

Maybe Oz is not all that backward as some say.

If you had one that you would otherwise get rid of, I'd say bring it. But I probably wouldn't buy one specially because you don't know what your kitchen will be like and it night not fit, I'd buy when you have your house lined up. They are not so expensive over here that it is worth taking risk of getting one that doesn't fit, my kitchen for example would not fit one of those American style double fridges,
