2cm!? That's a groundfrost!! Although you may have lots more on the way...

I was up in Aberdeen visiting friends yesterday - they have stacks of snow (in the pics), and it's been there for 2 weeks - everyone has a mini mount everest at the end of their driveway from clearing the snow.

I'm in Dundee....we don't have much, maybe 3 or 4 cm. Getting a bit worried about Thursday though - due to fly out of Edinburgh but snow forecast to pile into the East coast - might end up staying a bit longer!

We've had loads of snow too. More on the way.
Are you looking forward to going back to OZ now after all this snow?

Well my first day back in Melbourne has a forecast of 38C!

I've never known such consistent cold as these 2 weeks....but I have to say it hasn't been unpleasant....sunny days and it's been very still so really as long as you have a couple of layers, not bad at all. Of course the house has such mod cons as central heating, insultation & double glazing so there's no need to continue freezing your bits off indoors oz style!

By the looks of things a quad bike will be the better mode of transport tomorrow morning. It's about 1cm deep right now and still falling.

Yup it's been really cold. Earlier the forecasters were saying that we might get as much as 20cm down south over the next day or two

So much for global warming

I remember years ago when my then boyfriend and I worked in a petrol station, and we had a really hard winter. BP had just changed all their signs, and so we had these sheets of tough plastic lying around, about 4ft by 3ft, with the BP logo on one side. They were the best sledges ever, went down the hillsides in the park like greased lightningI think we had about 20 of them and after two days we had destroyed the lot as bits gradually snapped off the edges! The manager never did find out where the signs went - he was supposed to return them to BP
