Default Freakin hell..... Oil spill advice

Just been out to my Motor, and noticed that the best part of 4 litres of oil has spilled out of the container in the boot and into the gutter.

Whats the best way to clean this up quickly before the council grab me for pollution or something.

Im guessing detergent and water ?

Chuck sand or soil or cat litter on it if no absorbent granules are available, try & keep it out of drains, mop it up with rags as well.

Cat litter works well to soak it up and then go to Repco and ask them for some de-greaser

I used some cat litter that we had and shovelled it into a bag and put it in the Garbage, then rinsed the residue with Hot Water and Detergent.

So I got it half right. Thanks for the advice guys... It doesnt look bad at all now.
