The same as the rest of your tax. Most payroll depts charge you tax as if you are earning the same amount all year. If you don't earn that amount every month then you can claim back the extra tax money paid at the end of the year. Some payroll depts will let you reduce the amount of tax withheld to the correct amount of your annual salary if you ask.

Ahhhhh thank you, it makes more sense now!

This levy is pure socialism. Do you know what socialism is?

The Liberal / Conservative / Republican govts worldwide are pretty good at wasting money as well.
Yes but they also manage the books far better than a Labor or left wing govt.

Its the nature of Govt and you're whistling dixie if you think thats going to change anytime soon. Learn to live with it and plan for it. Or get involved in Govt yourself and work to change it (good luck!!!!)
Like that's going to happen...

Otherwise you're just going to give yourself high blood pressure working yourself up about it.
I don't get worked up.

As for the rest of your post, I'll just say I hope I never need any help or compassion when you're walking on by! :p
It's a dog eat dog world out there.

Shame most independent respected economists disagree with you. ;) The handling of the GFC was touted as excellent and the suggestion was we would have lost far more money had we lost confidence and gone into recession.

You mean the economists that are in the pockets of the US Federal Reserve and Goldman Sachs?

Out of interest, how many of you objecting to an temporary 1% levy were very happy to accept $900 stimulus payments a couple of years back? or have worked on the construction of new school buildings when there was little other work to be had?
I object to it and I didn't get the $900 stimulus. Irrespective, the $900 was really people's own money they had previously paid in tax. Call it a tax return.

The NHS Trust Payroll project was a complete disaster that wasted billions!

Don't watch fox news. Watch Russia Today! ;) Western news agency based in Russia that doesn't tow the govt. propaganda line unlike the BBC, SKY etc.

Err, yeah, thats kind of the point I was making...

I'm talking about the National programme for IT (NpfIT), also known as Connecting for Health one of the largest IT projects ever and a huge failure. I was ironically suggesting that the NBN is likely to enjoy similar success :p

We agree on something, I did a few weeks contracting on it early in the project and asked to leave as I was appalled at the waste, my newly appointed boss asked me to stay for a while, shortly later he told me he agreed with me & we both left!

Try google. Look up socialism at the same time and learn to think for yourself and not Abbott.
