I used to take some Kava Kava for anxiety but then they banned it in the UK ... I believe St Johns Wort is meant to have a similar effect. There is also something out there called 'Rescue Remedy' which my sister highly recommends.

I survived on free Jim Beam and an MP3 player full of Audiobooks that I REALLY wanted to listen to.

I landed with a head full of booky knowledge and jet lag from hell ... I'd imagine that had something to do with the JB ...

I also flew with Singapore from the UK to here (alone) and return from here to the UK (with OH and 1 year old daughter) and they were great.

Good Luck.

To be honest the weather was so severe then it is unlikely to be that bad again.....Anyway I have come to realise I have no choice so I best grit my teeth and go for it,

I mean the fear doesn't stop me flying but I dislike it.
I am with you here, my hubby and I went to New York last year and on the way back had to keep seatbelts on for over 5 hours of the flight!! Straight after take off and then over the Atlantic (gulp!) we were in a storm with lightning etc. I used to really enjoy flying before I had children and luckily they were not with us last year so didnt have to pretend that I wasnt scared.

We are just about to book the flights to Brisbane (looking at 8th August) and am already dreading it incase its a really rocky flight and I have to plaster a smile on my face for the benefit of the kids, although maybe it will take my mind of things a little - who knows?!

I dont think there is any easy way round it except to say that without the flight we cant get to Oz so I think I'll give it a try

Good luck for the flight x

Thanks, I flew in late September.

Anyway the Atlantic is notorious for turbulence because of the vast ocean beneath, I have been informed rightly or wrongly that overland is better, so hoping this gives you some comfort. It does me !
