Bogans are an Australian underclass with a rougher style than Chavs. There are road blocks in the inner west preventing them from reaching the Eastern Suburbs.

I am struggling on that one myself. As you are renting with a family and want access to transport look at Lower North Shore on the train line or maybe Lane Cove. The other areas are the Eastern Suburbs such as Bondi, Bronte, Coogee etc. Inner West I would stick with the train line. As you have a family I would avoid Newtown (junkies) but maybe Marrickville etc. A lot of people like Balmain and Drummoyne however they are on buses to the city and attract a yuppie price tag.

Right now the $500 plus a week market is good for renters and vacancies in the Eastern Suburbs in that range are good.
