Boy! the thunderstorms in Joburg are something else. I forgot how fierce they are.
Thunder & lightning for an hour or so and then the heavens opened from 4pm. Bucketed down for hours well into the night, but this morning is clear and sunny again.
Hit 30 degress C yesterday and my first layer of a tan back.
Enjoy your day wherever you are!

The unexpected cold weather has probably killed off all of my pot plants which I'd placed outside in the "warm spring" weather rather than arrange for someone to water them
. Oh well, I suppose it saves us the hassle of deciding who to give them to in October
Meanwhile, it's hot and steamy here in Malaysia and I'm covered in mozzie bites.

Our plants too may have suffered.

Eat loads of garlic. That should sort it.

. And the lightning is something else! We had a whopper of a cloudburst today here in Malacca. Had to stop driving because it was so heavy. Thanks for the tip
. The mozzie bites turned out to be sandfly bites from the two days we spent at Port Dickson. They're very itchy and blistering, around 40 of them

Thanks
It's a great feeling to be here at last. it still feels almost unbelievable. On arrival it was a bit scary to start off with because SWMBO and the boys were waved through at immigration but I was pulled to one side (
) and given a "pep talk" about my 23 year old misdemenour. But phew, they let me in

It turns out that this will happen every time I enter the country until I have citizenship. Very humiliating TBH, but a price that I have to pay. It's time I told the boys. On the bright side it'll be a good lesson for them to always remain on the right side of the law.
