What happens if you simply "forget" to pay a fine. Does it go up or do they just keep chasing you to pay the fine.

Got caught riding without a helmet today. Only hundred so now that I'm a little more relaxed I'll just pay it. Funny part about it I told the cop I've ridden past him a few times before and he only decided to ping me now. Then asked him if he had made his quota for the night. Can't understand it but he wasn't impressed... As I was riding away he said I had a bad attitude LOL. Hell if it's gonna cost me I'm going to at least get my monies worth out of the bugger

Forget to pay it.Nothing will become of it.In fact a few weeks down the line they will send you out a bottle of wine for disturbing you.

I was in a friends car and on the floor, front and back he had over 4 and a half grands worth of parking fines. He didn't give a toss and had no intention of paying them.
I wish I had the bottle to be like that but I'd be afraid someones gonna come a knocking.

Dont know about any other state but in WA you can let them build up to thousands of dollars and then one day the police come and arrest you send you to Hakea prison for a few days, average 5 days, and the whole lot is wiped out!

I can't stand wearing a helmet"don't send me to the gallows yet" I reluctantly don one.
If it's compulsory to wear one at least make it the standard of a motorcycle helmet.Anything less is a waste of time.
It's just going through the motions.

That's a bit harsh...and you look so pleasant in that photo.

Whilst there is no evidence to show that compulsory helmet wearing saves lives in serious collisions, I still prefer my kids to wear one. I am sure in the case of a minor accident it would prevent their heads from being split on a pavement. A child outside our school fell of a scooter and fell backwards splitting the back of their head wide open. Blood everywhere. If wearing a helmet prevents that in kids then I am all for wearing them.

Heard that sometimes the police set up their little vans and stop motorists and check if they have any outstanding fines. its either pay there and then or car is impounded. Not seen that myself but believe it.

I am pleasant, sometimes. My friends (although I don't have many) like me very much

Be honest have you ever seen a child wearing a helmet that looks as though it would give adequate protection.
My boy wears a skateboard helmet which is pretty good but those bike one's that sit on top of the head like a pigeon landing board are a joke.
No friends? you have to get out more.

I got done for not having rego. I forgot to renew it. The patrol car had a camera on their dash which scans number plates. Lazy buggers
But paid my $602 fine. It could have been worse as they let me off 3 other fines for the same thing which could have been a total of $1700 and 7 points.
