Have you tried this lot for bras?

www.zodee.com.au

Trousers too long are better than too short! Can't anybody sew? In the UK it was a battle to get 32/33" leg ladies' trousers. I'm in heaven here.

Come on Arkon

You should be wearing hard yakka trousers with those garter type over boot things to stop things falling into your boots! :)
Have you tried ebay though for jeans etc
And did you get rained out?

It got pretty wet. More than my wellies could handle. It's mostly cleared up now. As for hard yakka trousers. My UK ones out wear my Aussie ones by miles, They seem to have mastered the art of stitching without stitches.

Following Mrs Jackaroos advice, I braved ebay again and picked up some fab deals! I got 4 bra and knicker sets, very pretty in my size for £22! I also got some beautiful french knickers in different colours and 11 pairs of Next undies (all brand new of course) for £11! Much cheaper than here and they fit.....perfectly!

Thank you so much Mrs J! :D

PS; oh and one seller chucked in a Boots No 7 make up bag (new and sealed)containing sample make up and some No 7 products! So lovely - I won't have to worry about lippy now for a while!

You're more than welcome GB :)

OH I love No 7! - thats something else I miss :(

I've just giggled my way through this entire thread! You ladies are so funny and soooo right! I spent a year in Oz so feel your pain regarding underwear, stupid long trousers and where is Boots??!!! I'm moving over permanently to Cairns next year and know the shopping isn't the best there so am stocking up as much as I can before heading over and top of my list are jeans and underwear! Even started a draw of 'not wearing until I get to Oz' clothes and underwear!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thinks the Oz sizes are crazy, maybe we should all get together and open new stores!

Good luck in your searches!

:D

What about us shorties? I need a 28" leg! Always got my jeans from Topshop and Next petites - can't get that here. As a compromise I've started buying the 3/4 cropped trousers as they almost reach my ankles! Roll on a hol to the UK - we'll be taking empty suitcases and coming back with full ones! :)

It's not just a case of taking the hem up - with boot cut trousers, for example, the shape of the trousers is affected when you have to take the trousers up by four inches! They stop being boot cut, and become flares!

Also, I really hate hemmed jeans - they remind me of growing up and having to wear cheap and nasty jeans with a really dodgy hem sewn by my mother (who seriously lacked such skills). Furthermore, when you buy a pair of vintage-style jeans that have slightly weathered looking hems, taking up the hems ruins the look :(

I do take up the hems of trousers here, and take in the sides as well so they don't flap around my hips (in preference to buying a smaller size which feels like my bum's being garroted), using my faithfull old sewing machine (20 years old and still going...). But it would be nice to see more variety of lengths in the shop (ie short, regular and tall) and which actually do match their descriptions.

Thanks but only had 2 styles in my size - same prob as Chels. I am definitely going to use it as an excuse to stock up here before I go but I hope to get pregnant soon & obviously your size changes then. Boobs eh - who'd have 'em?!

You'll be like me when I went through customs. For some reason I must look dodgy as they pulled me over to search my luggage! As she was going through the case she was smirking......10 bras from Asda in packaging, M&S sets, thongs, briefs etc all new - not much else in the suitcase!
