Its like christmas in my house this morning!! So excited - posty woman knocks on the door at 7.30am with 3 parcels from the UK containing............ Marks & Sparks undies! Following Mrs Jackaroos advice, I braved ebay again and picked up some fab deals! I got 4 bra and knicker sets, very pretty in my size for £22! I also got some beautiful french knickers in different colours and 11 pairs of Next undies (all brand new of course) for £11! Much cheaper than here and they fit.....perfectly!
Thank you so much Mrs J! :D PS; oh and one seller chucked in a Boots No 7 make up bag (new and sealed)containing sample make up and some No 7 products! So lovely - I won't have to worry about lippy now for a while! Anyone know where I can get jeans in different leg/wasit size combos here? |

Well I don't need any underware but I do need some jeans that fit! There only seems to be one leg size per waist size here. I asked in Big W for different leg lengths and I got looked at like I had 2 heads. I asked another cutomer who was also looking at jeans and he said you need to buy the nearest fit and get them altered!

dare I say it????/ The UK! Sorry but hubby has same problem. In fact he hasn't brought a pair of jeans since we've been here. He needs a 32 waist, 31 leg. We've tried Just Jeans, Big W, Jay Jays. The young girl in just Jeans was ever so helpful (not)! She had a 32 waist but 34 leg and suggested we buy it and turn up the bottoms (all the trend apparently - yes in the 70's)!

(incidentally my 3 boys refuse to wear boxers! They say its just too hot) |

Have you had any luck with boxer shorts for him? The pairs we've brought by Bonds fall to pieces! Mark likes Calvin's and Lennox - Calvin's here appear to be made of thinner material and not as good quality. Lennox - can't get here at all. I reckon by 2010 he'll be going commando if I don't find him some soon!

Anyone know where I can get jeans in different leg/wasit size combos here? It's weird the way they only sell a waist size with 3m long legs and expect you to have them shortened (the trousers, that is <g>) |

Re: Finally! Underwear that fits!
The only jeans that i can find that fit are Uk ones; nothing else feels comfortable - if the waist and bum fit then the legs are too long. I buy in bulk from Evans when I go home, tried several over here but they just don't fit right. Same with underwear - top and bottom; I have a mountain of M&S undies to keep me going. As for Aussiei bras, their D and DD seem to be almost pointed in shape, don't know about anyone else, but mine certainly aren't that shape and don't like having to fit into pointed cups!!

If I ever find bras that fit & I like I buy a few at a time nowadays |
Re: Finally! Underwear that fits!
Jeans and trousers - too long in the leg, too big on the legs, or too low on the waist. I bought two pairs of jeans back in the UK without even trying them on, and they're perfect.
Skirts - too big around the hips... Jackets - too long in the sleeves... Bras - where do I start? I just stock up in the UK when I'm over there (Selfridges lingerie dept, bestest ever, my salvation when I found it after years of squeezing into wrong shaped bras from high street stores. Small back + large cup = impossible to buy Aussie bras). I will give Figleaves a go though, and also Undercover Experience as I'm not due a visit back to the UK until next year. Swimwear - HA HA HA. I thought it would be easy to buy swimwear over here - I had this silly idea that because the sea plays such a big part in the Australian culture, there would be a huge choice and it would be inexpensive. So I didn't buy before coming out here. Mistake. I've spent hundreds of dollars on swimwear here, which mounts up to two bikinis, and they're both crap. Shoes - what's wrong with having half sizes? AKA why can't my feet grow to fit into a size 7, or shrink to fit a size 6. Earrings - I like to wear subtle jewellery for work, not gaudy chandeliers from my ears. Unfortunately, that's the only choice in Australia unless I pay over $50 for sterling silver earrings. Toiletries - Original Source, please venture into the Australian market. Soon I will have no more lime flavour left, and that will make me sad. Evening wear - I don't want to wear strapless or spaghetti strap dresses. Nor do I want to look like someone has puked up on me. And ruffles are best left (if anywhere) on curtains. Why, after 3 years of looking, can't I find a nice, elegant, sophisticated (but not mumsy) dress? Oh heck, I have to stop. I generally can subsume my bitterness when it comes to clothes shopping but my experience shopping today has left me despondent and disheartened. |

I won't even mention the shirts I've bought here, except to say they don't last 5 minutes and wearing a bag would be more fitting and comfortable. |

Yes, I've a 29" leg and I end up with about a 3 inch turnup, just great for catching creatures when I'm outside. I did stock up with jeans and trousers last time I was back in the UK, but farming takes it's toll on them. Looks like I need to get someone to buy them from home and post them out.

You should be wearing hard yakka trousers with those garter type over boot things to stop things falling into your boots! :) Have you tried ebay though for jeans etc And did you get rained out? |
