I am happy but Im not happy - say half and half, my roof is leaking, my kelpie is terrified and the giant hail stones are dangerously close to the cars.

Ill have to contact the insurance company about the roof tomorrow, I thought it had stopped but its started again.

But all in all, it is much needed rain I guess.

After I said that, it has been bad. Some damage to the outside of the house and the car has a dent from hail! The widows have leaked badly too so I am a bit worried about how the paint work will be tomorrow.

Our house is flooded and we have no lights.Just spent the last hour trying to mop up though at least we have no carpets!Sue.

i know it rains bad in Perth and i experienced some nasty storms while we were there, but never had a flood in the house and no electric. Hope you get no more damage:fingerscrossed:

They've just said on the radio that so far today we have had 28mm rain before today the whole summers rain was 0.2mm on Feb 7th!

these are the worst storms I have seen in the 5 years I have lived in Perth. It has been horrendous Rachel.

I dont recall seeing hail as big as today in my 30 odd years in Perth. Some where between golf and tennis ball size. 2 cars dented badly.

So we've had Cyclone Ului...Brisbane and Southern Qld flooded, torrents of rain in Sydney...golf ball hail in Melbourne & Perth...all in the last month and a half...who's next!? :eek:

My neighbour has had 11 of his work vehicles damaged by the hail.

That was a seriously full on storm, not over yet either.

Im so glad i only work Tuesday to Saturday.....my lil brother is stuck on Hay street in a flood......no trains are running from Freo......eep

You have to laugh we cleaned up in the dark with the dogs getting in the way and my 5 year old daughter also getting in the way also but she thinks it is a great adventure.

Our house is under offer so at least we don't have any homes open to deal with!

The only light we have is from the computers at the moment.Sue.

My husband is a member of the SES, works in the communication bunker, taking calls and coordinating people to go where they are needed.

He had a call just after 4 to go in from 6 to midnight, and at that time they already had 150 jobs that needed sorting!

I got home to a couple of leaks, and my car is full of little dents. I drove my car through some very deep puddles, including one on the freeeway near the Warwick road exit, which had cut 5 lanes down to 1. I then had to collect 1 child from work at Whitfords (where the roof is leaking) and another from his girlfriends house, through some more v deep puddles!

Not a good day to be driving! Never in my 20+ years of driving, in many different countries, have I driven in such awful weather.

Just heard that the school is closed due to lots of flooding and tree damage around the place.

I know we need the rain, but a bit less at once would have been nice

We have escaped with no damage to anything, just a severely delayed and pissed off husband now on a train to Joondalup.

I almost drowned in Leederville, but loved the "blitz spirit" that suddenly appeared in everyone, the two ladies who dragged me out of the hail to shelter under Kaili's verandah, the very nice man who protected my laptop with his brolly whilst almost doing a Mary Poppins impression off the bridge to the station. Oh, and did you see what happened to the sky just before dark?

Some of our guys at work are off as their ceilings collapsed, a few cars damaged.

Im going to call our insurance company for our roof but all in all we are OK. Did everyone get home safe last night?:confused:

That's right, Steve is on call for tonight for the SES again. Out of 800 phone calls last night, 500 were from the northern suburbs. We were lucky, we had power all night, lost it for a couple of hours this morning. My kids are off school as there is a fair bit of damage there.
