Filthy Britons....
Queen Mary University of London have done a study and found that the British seem to have confirmed the belief that Poms dont wash. Move over Bali Belly... The real fear is Brit Belly.
So hands up those of you that say you do wash but really dont. The electronic survellieance seems to prove that most dont.

Always wash and have taught kids to wash, after loo before eating or cooking.
But a lot of people dont. Thats the womens loo, dont hang in the mens
Notice a lot of parents dont wash after baby nappy changing either, I mean elbow deep in .... and no wash - disgusting.
And I hate it when people stick a babys arse on a food counter or table. Or check out people cuff snot then keep handling your grocery order.
However once you have traveled to certain regions of the world all that seems tame

I complained about the canteen at work last week - the guy was serving chips with one hand, while he held onto the broom with the other. In between serving he was sweeping the floor And I've often seen babies being changed on tables in cafes

In my experience those aren't just British traits though, I'm sure you'll agree.

I always wash my hands, usually before & after, it doesn't pay to touch sensitive skin with cement covered hands
When I'm preparing food I'm fastidious about washing my hands, probably comes from having adhesive covered hands most of the day.

The cuts in the Qld public service has resulted in the cleaner doing both his normal cleaning job and working as the cook but on the same pay as before?

Re: Filthy Britons....
There is a view by some that everything is too sterile and clean these days, you see adds on TV telling us horrifying tales of germs and bugs that are going to get our children unless we clean everything.
Some say the result is a generation of kids that have an allergy to just about everything going. As a kid I was always coming home dirty, didn't mean my parents didn't do their job properly or keep a clean house, was just a kid that got in to everything outside playing, not sure that is the case these days with all of the electronic distractions.
We teach our son good cleaning habits and to tidy up after himself (hard one that!) but are also not fussy about him getting a bit of dirt on him.
