Films featuring Australia
Now we've got our visa app, the Mrs and I are all enthusiastic.
Can anyone recommend any films with good scenes of Oz in there we could watch? Featuring Australian scenery, towns, cities etc?
I think Priscilla Queen Of The Desert is the only one we've got!

An old really creepy film (and based on a true story) - Picnic at Hanging Rock
The Matrix (features Sydney buildings!)
Muriels Wedding - comedy
Lantana - thriller/drama -great film.
Check out http://www.afc.gov.au/filmsandawards...6/default.aspx for the Aussie Film Commission funded projects.
And while it doesn't feature alot of sites - The Castle is the best Aussie film IMO.

Re: Films featuring Australia
Will definitely vouch for "The Castle", its not huge on scenery but its a great insight into the Oz way of thinking and giving things a "fair go".
You dont need films to look at Oz, get out there and see it for yourself, its like nowhere on earth.
I spent 23 years there before returning to the UK, im now retired and living in France but my years in Oz will be the best time of my life.
Hope all goes to plan and you grab the chance with both hands, best wishes for the future.!

As for the OP's question.
The Dish
The Castle
The Craic
Bootmen
I'm not sure it would help as it's all set in the desert but Mad Max and its sequels.
And for the beautiful rolling hills of NSW - Babe
