Favourite part of Australia.
Just one or maybe 2 photos, I have cheated because its my thread. :D
For me it is Far North Queensland, I could never live there because of the weather but when we lived in Queensland it was somewhere I tried to get to at least twice a year. Loved the rainforest and the wildlife. http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7c6e9d3f.jpg http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/...psaa1198f9.jpg http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/...psa7e8715c.jpg |

Re: Favourite part of Australia.
Nice pics, you should try Mount Tamborine, it looks like that but minus the coastline and humidity.
And 'tis where I will be on Saturday if the weather forecast is accurate ... 39 in the city, at least 42 here ... Time for an ice cream methinks. :) Roll on winter for me ;) |
Re: Favourite part of Australia.
We went to Mt Tamborine many times over the years.
Come on some of you guys must have a photo or 2. Dont forget it is the 1 favourite part of the country. |
Re: Favourite part of Australia.
Right here on the Mid North Coast, Manning Valley. I lived in QLD for 20 years and whenever we drove down to Sydney I just yearned to move to Northern NSW, now I'm here and loving it. Apart from the "tourist bureau" shot, these are all just random shots on the way out from Old Bar to Gloucester via Wingham for SWMBO's medical appointment, just stopped the car now and again where there was a safe pull-in. Beach is one street away from our place at Old Bar.
Edit: square shots are my mobile phone, wide shots are my trusty Kodak that excels for landscapes when the battery doesn't run out because someone forgot to charge it :frown:. http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps587dae4c.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...pse7654782.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps1db197b1.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...psda943baf.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...psa71c2fa7.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps7ab6e65e.jpg |

Yamba NSW. Of course I also love Mt Tambo, tis a magical wee place. :) |
Re: Favourite part of Australia.
Love Yamba, haven't been there for 10 years and glad to see there's no high rise. Got plastered at the Pacific Hotel a few times.

Re: Favourite part of Australia.
I live in a tourist area so don't have to travel far to get to the 'beauty spots' people mention. My house is in this picture.

Haven't been around Aus, and no idea how to post photos on here, (technologically moronic am I,) but my hope is that this year we might actually get out of Sydney and explore NSW a bit more.:fingerscrossed:

Never know what size to make the file |
Re: Favourite part of Australia.
I visited the Great Ocean Road about 8 months ago. I thought that was pretty special. Visited Port Stephens about 3 hours north of Sydney a few weeks back. Very nice spot. Photo included. Always a fan of Jervis Bay, the white sands and the turquoise water.

Nope....I can't even take the photos as I shake too much, let alone get the memory card out of the camera and download it...after that I have no idea what to do.

Home isn't too hard to take, this is the view from my lounge
Attachment 115402 But the Northern Territory is where my heart is, I used to work at Ayers Rock, The Granites Goldmine in the Tanami Desert and Ranger Uranium mine in Kakadu. I often wish I'd settled there, I really miss the grandeur of the place and the open space, one of the few places in the world were cars don't need letters in their number plates as the aren't enough people to necessitate them. Here are a couple of the locals that I met, Attachment 115403 Dingo at The Granites Gold mine. He's a bit of a camp favourite and his name is Steve. Attachment 115404 Crocodile in the Alice river. I didn't get this blokes name, he must have weighed over two tons and seemed to be taking a nap. So I thought it best not to disturb him :) |

The Oaks was good but I preferred my balcony with a 180 degree view of the harbour. Excellent views of the NYE fireworks etc.

We spent many years visiting many parts of Australia before picking on Mount Tamborine to live. And it's still our favourite place.
These are taken in our backyard. |
Re: Favourite part of Australia.

Here's a few of my offerings seeing not many photos are being posted: A favourite place is this sporting precint; in Carlsberg terms probably the best in the world. :D http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...psae08e10e.jpg A Yarra Valley winery (Domaine Chandon): http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...ps96f1059d.jpg And a prize if you can guess why this place near Melbourne is a favourite::D http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2c0097f2.jpg |

Some of you are great photographers, I have a decent camera but can only do the basics. :o
My favourite part of Australia (so far) is FNQ, we have been up to Port Douglas or similar every Easter so far. I also am fond of my home city. |

I take no credit for that Kiama one. It's a local photographer called Michael Thompson and he specialises in stuff like that. Take a look at some of his stuff.

Re: Favourite part of Australia.
Oooh there's some stiff competition out there and being such a vast and diverse landscape lots of worthy contenders for different reasons.
I must admit up until last year, like others here FNQ and the Daintree did it for me. I remember thinking "wow" when there. But Karijini out "wowed" Daintree. Just and extraordinary and ancient land.
