Help!
We've been invited to a fancy dress party (that's me, hubby and four kids 11,9,8 and 6) and the theme is Disney, TV and Movie character's.
Can some kind, creative, soul, suggest cheap and easy outfits? I really don't want to have to buy (just can't afford it) or hire outfits especially for 6 of us so any ideas would be really appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

Jack Sparrow is quite easy. Lots of plaited wool for the hair with beads and a bandana, lacy shirt, big belt, and lots of black eyeliner
For the LOs, how about Peter Pan and the Lost Boys or Wendy etc? Peter Pan is just brown shorts and shirt with a felt hat and a feather. Wendy just needs a long white night gown and the brothers would just be nightshirts (and a little teddy for Michael) You can make some fairy dust to help with the flying, by mixing some bran/porridge oats with glitter.
I know you don't want to spend money, but Ebay is a fab source for fancy dress stuff, even if it is just accessories.
HTH and will have a think of some more if I can

Sounds like you've got the makings of the seven dwarves there... I could lend you three more...
Lots of pirates for pirates of the caribean would be relatively simple... And you could have the whole crew... Not just jack sparrow!!!
Personally I LOATH fancy dress... Have enough difficulties deciding which pair of jeans and which black T shirt to wear....

$2 shop. Assorted masks and hats. Recently saw Jason mask, witch gear, fake construction hard hat, firemans hat. (All $1.99).
Op shops also do good cheap things you can play with.
Good luck and have fun!

I think you can't go wrong with cats. black leotard or T shirt plus black tights. face paint and make yourself some cardboard ears stuck to a hair band, You could fashion a tail from an old piece of material, Sorted.

The Flintstones.
Cut up old clothes/sheets and paint with fur patterns. Staple together if you don't sew.
