Facts of Life - how were you told?
I was taken into the living room by my Mum and vaguely remember being told the part that 'daddies play' in the role of making babies.
I remember giggling my head off as my brother and sisters hid outside snorting with laughter, ruining a 'beautiful' moment between mother and daughter.
My sister however, when she asked how babies came out of ladies when they 'were so small', Mum patiently tried to explain that the ladyparts strecthed - a bit like an elastic band, to fit a baby through.
My sister was found crying a few hours later, saying she would not be able to have babies, as she had checked and couldnt find her elastic band.
Oh what a hard job it must be for parents to teach their kids this subject .
How were you told the facts of life? Did your school have a major input and have you got any funny stories to share?

My mum spent about an hour telling me.......but forgot to mention that women have three orifices, so I thought that they arrived via the "front bottom".

Not my personal experience, but when our eldest son was about 11, he came home with a letter to ask permission to allow a sex education lesson. Upon giving me the letter he said, 'Please, please can I go to the lesson, as I want to learn all about it as I want to do it when I'm older!!!!!' :scared:

I worked for a number of years as a psychosexual therapist.
I met huge numbers of adults who did not have a clue about the 'facts of life'
Mindboggling

I remember my Mum would answer questions in a round about way when we were really young and then sat me down and explained properly at 9 and then again at 11 because she knew it would not be too much longer until I got the 'thing that all girls get'. My Brother was more worried he'd get them too!
I remember my Brother having a note sent home from playschool as he had told all the class the real name for his 'boy parts'. I can also remember him telling Dad that it was 'Daddy's tadpoles go into the Mummy's egg and then the tails snap off and they grow into frogs and then baby's'. Dad was like 'Close enough'!
My Mum and Dad were never embarrassed and would always answer our questions. I think it came from the fact that no one ever told my Mum, her Mum was very squeamish about the whole thing. My Dad met my Mum when she was 16 and he was 20 and he ended up explaining it all to her (and I don't mean that how it sounds)

I'm still waiting for my parents to tell me.... I think they are working on the theory if they don't tell me it wont happen.
Not sure how they explain the Grandkids though

Dunno really, it was always really open in our house. No-one ever sat me down and gave me the facts. I just asked questions and got told the answers.
I do remember going home once and asking Mum what a wan**r was! Bless her, she explained that one too!!

I was 16 years old and 3 months pregnant when my mother sat me down and asked if I knew how it happened. Told her I was pretty sure I knew.
My mother was raised in a very sheltered house and I'm pretty sure she was not all that clear about how she got pregnant 9 times.

my parents didn't taught me nor had a talk with me regarding that thing... they're too conservative...
